With this aim in view several instruments were introduced such as 'Horizon 2020' and the 'ERA.Net RUS Plus' initiative. The ERA.Net RUS Plus initiative generated a huge interest among the scientific community which led to the on the spot formation of a project consortium among some of the conference participants for the current ERA.Net RUS Plus joint call on S&T already during the conference.
